The National Working Party for Collaboration on Storm Flood Measures works to standardise and increase collaboration between the six storm flood measures managed by RWS: the measures on the East Schelde, the Maeslant, the Hartel, the Dutch IJssel, the Haringvliet and Volkerak locks, and the Ramspol inflatable dam. The national working party works on the basis of four specific pillars: management, frameworks, knowledge and collaboration.
AT Osborne assists this national working party in its activities, both in the wider sense and for the various storm flood measures, drawing on our already long-term involvement in these special measures. We have contributed, and continue to contribute, our knowledge, skill and experience to:
- developing an approach for a generic quality management system for all storm flood measures;
- updating and implementing the quality management system for the Oosterscheldekering (East Schelde measures);
- updating and implementing the joint quality management system for the Maeslant, Hartel and Dutch IJssel measures and the Haringvlietdam;
- developing and elaborating a knowledge strategy for storm flood measures.
By working with RWS on the ongoing development of supply of measures, for example by translating current new insights into operational working methods, we can help with developments for the duty of care of the primary defence systems. We see ourselves as a knowledge partner and are proud to be able to take on this role for RWS. The above goal is what we really care about: making a contribution to protecting our country from flooding, and all the more so in light of climate change and rising sea levels.
